HKU Vers: Primaat van het zien

“In the world certain things strike me, things that touch me. This can be a photo or situation, just as much as a tree. By painting I try to get closer to the essence of that touch and of what I depict.”

This year for HKU Vers, EXboot chooses the work of Jan Timmers in September. With his graduation project “Primaat of the sight” he tries in a series of paintings to depict things as originally allowed, either without analyzing the image or contaminating the image with science or reason, in order to create works that are one step closer to the seeing come before it is influenced by our ratio: the original seeing.
